SEPANG, April 25 — An Opposition activist’s controversial claim regarding land approval in Dengkil was a deliberate attempt to sway public perception ahead of the Kuala Kubu Baharu state by-election.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari dismissed the accusations against him by Badrulhisham Shahrin, also known as Chegu Bard, stressing that the claims are baseless and factually misleading.
“Perhaps he has multiple random targets, but the concern lies in repeatedly bringing up matters that have already been addressed. Making accusations that are intended to be sensational but, in reality, they’re baseless.
“Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd has recently proceeded with the legal actions against Chegu Bard. If there are others who wish to join the lawsuit, they are welcome to do so.
“I see their strategy is to divert attention. He knows the facts are entirely unfounded, so he attempts to draw public attention to shape perception,” he said after the handover ceremony of the Segway micromobility vehicles to the Selangor Police Contingent at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), here yesterday.
On April 20, the Menteri Besar’s political secretary, Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad, said the accusations are a repeated act in light of the upcoming Kuala Kubu Baharu polls, similar to what took place in the previous 2023 Selangor State Election last August.
Previously, Chegubard, who is also a Bersatu Information Committee member, claimed that he had supporting documents to prove his allegations that the Selangor government had transferred 100.04 acres of land in Dengkil to Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd.
