SHAH ALAM, April 1 — The Selangor administration will continue helping micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in their digital transformation journey as further means to drive up sales and increase productivity.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said as part of this initiative, the state government, through Platform Selangor or PLATS, has been distributing Digital Rahmah coupons worth RM10 to public members at Ramadan bazaars to encourage the use of cashless payments.
He said this after distributing the coupons to visitors at the Seksyen 3 Bandar Baru Bangi bazaar yesterday.
“This (initiative) is part of a promotion to assist MSMEs in adapting to digitalisation in their business operations.
“Thank God, so far, a total of 20,000 small traders and hawkers have joined PLATS.
“The Selangor government will continue to empower MSMEs to adapt to digitalisation in their businesses,” he said in a post on social media platform X last night.
The distribution of the Digital Rahmah coupons is part of PLATS’ Masuk Bazar campaign held at eight locations statewide to promote cashless payments.
Previously, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, announced an allocation of RM40,000 to ensure the campaign’s success.
PLATS was introduced during the month of Ramadan in 2020, following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, to assist MSMEs in digitalising their business.
It also introduced the PLATS Entrepreneur Development Training (U-PLATS) programme to aid entrepreneurs in managing their businesses digitally.
