SHAH ALAM, March 14 — The new Semenyih Health Clinic is expected to be completed by June next year with a capacity of 800 patients daily.
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni said the clinic, currently under construction, aims to address the congestion at health clinics in the Hulu Langat district.
"I am aware of the crowded conditions at health clinics in Hulu Langat. The Health Ministry is also extending the Ampang Health Clinic and the Kajang Health Clinic's operating hours to improve local residents' access to health services.
"The Ampang Health Clinic and the Bandar Baru Bangi Health Clinic also operate on weekends and public holidays for special services, including neonatal jaundice examinations for children," he said.
Lukanisman was speaking during the wind-up of the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He added that all Hulu Langat district health clinics have also started opening appointment slots online via the MySejahtera app.
"This is to manage patient arrivals and reduce congestion at all Hulu Langat health clinics," he said.
The deputy minister said 1,200 dilapidated health clinics nationwide are being targeted for restoration from 2023 to 2025, with 524 completed and upgraded last year.
"The Health Ministry also targets another 400 dilapidated health clinics nationwide for upgrading this year, involving a RM150 million allocation," he said.
