e-LMM photo mix up: Not a case of system abuse, identity theft — JPJ

PUTRAJAYA, March 14 — The Road Transport Department (JPJ) confirmed that there is no element of system abuse or identity theft in the case of a Malaysian Digital Driving License (e-LMM) featuring a photo of a person with a different identity than the one named on the licence.

In a statement issued here today, JPJ said the matter occurred when the information technology team carried out system maintenance work, which was done periodically, to ensure the sustainability of the MyJPJ system.

JPJ takes note and apologises for the mix up and said that the department has acted immediately to rectify the issue, adding that all information on the ayatem is protected and safe.

"JPJ will always improve the system from time to time to strengthen the delivery of the best digital services to the people," according to the statement.
