SHAH ALAM, Feb 26 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, donated 11 units of laptops to low-income families (B40) at the Kota Anggerik community service centre here today.
Its Corporate Social Responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said that MBI spent RM27,500 on purchasing 11 units of HP model devices for students of higher education institutions from low-income families.
“The cost for each unit is RM2,500. At Kota Anggerik, we provided 11 units after receiving applications from the Kota Anggerik community service centre.
“God willing, more state government bodies, agencies or corporations will distribute devices at other community service centres,” said Ahmad Azri when met after the handover of the laptops at the Kota Anggerik community service centre, here today.
Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Najwan Halimi was also present at the handover.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Azri said that MBI provides laptop assistance to those who need it every year, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
“Among the requirements are a household income of less than RM5,000 and that the recipient is studying at a public or private higher education institution.
“Applications can be made via the respective constituency service centre, which will issue a letter of support to MBI,” he said.
