SEPANG, Nov 7 — A total of RM25 million was spent by the Selangor Menteri Besar (Incorporated) or MBI to mobilize various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs from the beginning of the year until now.

MBI head of CSR and Corporate Communications Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the annual funds were used for the implementation of the Selangor People's Tuition Programme (PTRS), Haji Muassasah contributions as well as Special Financial Aid (BKK) to mosque workers and village heads.

He informed that other programmes involved activities with the community, sports, empowerment and assistance to ease the burden of disaster victims.

"MBI receives an annual allocation of RM30 million to make the CSR programme successful.

So far, there is no need to increase allocation because it is the end of the year.

"Only now we are focused on facing disasters. We have prepared almost RM500,000 for that purpose," he said when met after handing over aid to flood victims at the temporary evacuation centre at SMK Dengkil here today.

In the meantime, he said Selangor also received additional funds from the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) which will be handed over to the State Disaster Management Unit (UPBN).

"MBI will work with UPBN to procure food and hygiene kits," he said.
