Over 80 pct of damaged roads in Meru fully repaired — State rep

SHAH ALAM, July 12 — More than 80 per cent of the roads in the Meru state constituency have been paved and repaired, some under Projek Selangor Penyayang (PSP) and utilising RM1 million in funds.

Its incumbent state assemblyman Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mokhtar said the project also used funds from the Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris), which is under the management of the local authorities.

Similarly, the Klang Municipal Council and the Public Works Department also provided allocations, along with contributions from various corporate social responsibility programmes.

"I am quite satisfied with this accomplishment, and am very grateful to the local authorities, the department, and the District Office, for helping to resolve the road issue," he said when contacted yesterday.

Mohd Fakhrulrazi added the issue of flooding in Meru will be resolved by constructing a catchment pond in Kampung Budiman, which will be carried out by the Irrigation and Drainage Department at a cost of RM20 million.

"The project's development is now 30 per cent complete and will have a positive effect once the area is no longer flooded. The second project worth RM220 million will also be carried out soon," he said.
