SHAH ALAM, July 4 — Some 36 entrepreneurs in Hulu Selangor received business equipment assistance via the Poverty Eradication Blueprint Assistance programme, earlier today.
State executive councillor for socioeconomic development V Ganabatirau said they received assistance in the form of machinery equipment, from a RM274,700 allocation.
"The state government provides substantial funding via this programme, to ensure the targeted groups receive the appropriate assistance. For 2023 alone, 334 applications have been approved in nine districts.
"As such, we hope all recipients of the Blueprint aid today will be able to shift their mindset to improve their incomes, to support themselves and their families towards a more comfortable and prosperous life," he said in a Facebook post.
Ganabatirau added approximately 3,256 participants have received business equipment assistance worth RM13,598,420 through the programme from 2016 until June this year.
During the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget on November 25 last year, the state government allocated RM2 million to assist individuals earning less than RM1,500 a month or with a monthly household income below RM3,000, under the Poverty Eradication Blueprint Assistance programme.
Traders or self-employed individuals in the state are given support in starting and developing their businesses, including the organisation of courses to empower entrepreneurs and improve their economic status, to lift them out of poverty.
Assistance in the form of equipment or machinery is also specifically provided to help traders, businessmen, and self-employed individuals in Selangor.
