SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will close several roads and intersections during the implementation of contra routes starting March 1.

The three-month road closure (trial period) starts from 5pm to 7.30pm every day except Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and when it rains.

MBPJ's Corporate Communications Unit Media Secretariat said among the roads and intersections involved are Jalan Othman–Jalan Templer Intersection, Jalan Gasing–Jalan Templer Intersection, Jalan Templer–Jalan 6/29 Intersection and every median opening on Jalan Templer.

According to the statement, the closure of the roads and intersections is only done during the implementation of the contra route flow.

"Vehicles from the direction of Jalan Othman to Pantai Baru Highway (NPE) have to make a u-turn at Assunta Roundabout," it said yesterday.

The statement added that road users from Petaling Jaya City Centre, Section 52/Federal Highway can use this contra route for smoother driving.

"Road users are advised to drive carefully and obey the signs provided at the location.

"Further questions and information can be directed to the Traffic Unit, MBPJ Engineering Department at 03-79584221 or email japatankejuruteraan@mbpj.gov.my," it said.
