AMPANG JAYA, Jan 20 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has been strictly monitoring 356 slopes under its jurisdiction, particularly the areas which were deemed dangerous and very dangerous.
Its Engineering Department director Zafrul Fazry Mohd Fauzi said out of the total, 116 slopes were categorised as very dangerous while 47 others were less dangerous.
He said the slopes were owned by different parties, including individuals, property developers, the local authorities, and the government.
“I seek cooperation from individual owners or developers to be responsible and collaborate with us to monitor and maintain slopes belonging to them, which have been categorised as very dangerous and dangerous.
“This is due to some who did not take any actions, even though we served them notices. Do not wait until we have to enforce stricter action,” Zafrul Fazry said, after presenting the Slope Management Action Plan during the public dialogue with Ampang residents yesterday.
Also in attendance was Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail, MPAJ president Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, Hulu Langat District Officer Ani Ahmad, and Ampang District police representative DSP Mohamad Fisol Abdullah.
He added the dangerous and very dangerous slopes are located in the Hulu Kelang, Bukit Antarabangsa, Lembah Jaya and Teratai state constituencies.
