SHAH ALAM, Dec 8 — A total of 29 candidates have been interviewed for the engine maintenance programme, which is managed by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI.
MBI in a statement today said the candidates were among 36 applicants who are eligible to go for the interview session through the Selangor Aerospace Apprentice Programme (SAAP).
“This morning (yesterday), there was an interview session for the first batch placement of the Engine Maintenance Programme under the SAAP in collaboration with GE Engine Services Sdn Bhd (GE Malaysia).
“We received a total of 118 applications and 36 candidates have been shortlisted through the screening process,” MBI said on Facebook.
MBI added that the apprentice programme is initiated by the state government to provide highly skilful workers in the said industry.
Launched on September 19, the programme aims to sharpen and empower the youth to join the aerospace industry and subsequently create a sustainable aerospace talent pool in Selangor.
Most of the training will be conducted in the GE Malaysia training facilities while the rest will be done in other GE branches across the world.
