SHAH ALAM, Dec 8 — The legendary Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu comic and Gila-Gila magazines are among the most sought-after books at the Sri Ayu Publishers and Distribution booth.
Its sales assistant Nur Dayana Shaikh Baharum said the comic, which was adapted from the famous sitcom in the 90s, received high demand from visitors.
“We only received 45 pieces of Imuda's best collection to be sold at RM45. The comics are nearly sold out and there will be no additional stocks.
“Most of the comics were bought by old-timers who appear to be avid fans of the sitcom. They probably want to reminisce about the good old days with some of the comical characters.
“The same goes with the Gila-Gila magazines. We received high demand not only from adults but also children,” she said when met at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Convention Centre in conjunction with the 2022 Selangor International Book Festival (SIBF), here yesterday.
She added that throughout the first seven days of the event, her booth has recorded encouraging sales of books and other reading materials.
“We will try our best to provide more discounts to selected books including promotions on cheap books.
“Such an approach is done to attract more visitors to visit our booth,” she said.
The inaugural SIBF is organised by the state government together with PPAS as a continuation of the Selangor Book Fair held in 2006.
In addition to exhibitions and book sales, various interesting activities involving students and children were also held together with sales of a variety of food and goods.
