SIHC 2022 to provide input on sustainable healthcare system — Deputy Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 — The Selangor International Healthcare Conference (SIHC) 2022 is expected to provide input to help the Health Ministry (KKM) in the effort to build a sustainable healthcare system for the country.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said the programme, which is being held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2022 in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), coincides with the Health white paper that is being formulated and expected to be tabled in Parliament next month.

"The lessons gained from the pandemic have opened our eyes that the country could not cope well because we were immensely affected, emotionally and mentally, which led to the idea of reform that should be done gradually and in phases.

“I believe the experts who will present (in this conference) will discuss related matters," he said when met by Bernama after delivering his opening speech at the conference today.

Meanwhile, InfoMed Malaysia chief executive officer Mohan Manthiry said the conference which is taking place from today until Sunday has been curated with a detailed understanding of the current trends, issues and reflection of the future and development of the healthcare industry.

“It provides a forum for experts and providers to reflect on key development and challenges, in healthcare services and offers solutions,” he said, adding that the participating local and international speakers are experts in their field.

SIBS 2022 is an annual business event backed by the Selangor state government which was officially launched yesterday.
