SHAH ALAM, Aug 22 — Hundreds of residents in Kampung Melayu Subang and Kundang took the chance offered in the affordable goods sale programme organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) yesterday.
It said close to 200 visitors went to both locations, which took place simultaneously from 9am to 12pm.
"The essential items on sale included cooking oil at RM2.50 per kg, fresh chicken at RM13 per kg and Grade B chicken eggs at RM12.50 per tray.
"Other products offered include beef at RM39 per kg, vegetables and fruit (farm prices) and fish at RM10 per pack)," said the corporation.
PKPS added it will also organise the Jualan Mega Merdeka programme at Dataran Pantai Batu Sepat in Kuala Langat, on August 28.
The affordable goods sale programme has been held since December last year, and is expected to travel to an additional 160 locations throughout Selangor, as part of the move to ease the people's burden in light of the spiralling costs of living.
On July 25, state executive councillor for agriculture modernization and agro-based industry Izham Hashim stated that over 80,000 Selangor citizens have benefitted from the programme.
