PETALING JAYA, Aug 15 — The Selangor government’s efforts in organising competitions involving youths has been praised by state assemblymen, who described it as the best platform to exchange views on steps to empower youths.

Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said one example would be the bowling competition organised by the Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS) yesterday that gave its young participants a chance to voice their views.
"This sort of activity is very good because while waiting for their turn to play, the young people can discuss and exchange views on the direction for youth.
"Activities like this should be continued in order to support and improve youth-related programmes," she said.
Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the organisation of youth activities is long overdue, seeing as it was not possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"It has been a long time since youth from each constituency in Selangor get a chance to assemble and conduct beneficial activities that can help empower them.
"I suggest more activities such as this be organised, which will help disseminate information that is beneficial to youths," she said.
Yesterday’s Selangor XTIV Tenpin Bowling Competition, which was organised by PeBS and the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) at the Sunway Pyramid shopping mall gathered over 250 youths.
