SUBANG JAYA, Aug 14 — Subang Jaya constituents are invited to take part in the state’s free health screening programme Selangor Saring on August 28.

Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze informed that 1,000 slots have been allocated for participants in the programme, which is scheduled to be held at Kompleks 3K Subang Jaya.

“This programme offers health checks to detect various diseases such as heart, hypertension, diabetes, breast cancer and prostate cancer.

“Residents within this area are advised to register early as the quota is limited to only 1,000 participants. Walk-ins are accepted but priority will be given to those who have registered,” she told SelangorKini.

Commenting further, Ng said she will be making several rounds in her constituency to help senior citizens to register for the programme.

"The visits will start on August 14 at the SS15 market followed by the USJ 4 playground (August 20), the PJS 7 morning market (August 21) and the USJ 14 playground (August 22).

“Meanwhile for youth, they can register via the SELangkah mobile app. However, if they encounter problems in registering online, they could come to the community service centre,” she said.

To ensure the programme’s success, the state government has set aside RM3.4 million in its budget, which would benefit 39,000 people, particularly those with a family medical history, who are obese and practise an unhealthy lifestyle.

The programme, which will run until September 4 provides physical screening, blood and urine tests, eye, cervical, and breast cancer screenings, as well as occult faeces or colon and prostate cancer testing.
