PETALING JAYA, July 30 — More than 800 residents in the Bukit Lanjan state constituency will receive the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) aid of RM300 per month.
Its state assemblyman Elizabeth Wong said many residents registered for the aid since its application opened on July 1, with over 200 residents doing so online.
"We hope this will benefit low-income families so they are not burdened when managing family expenses.
"To ensure that more apply, we will go conduct field visits to several areas and localities and help them register. There may be residents facing issues like Internet access or a lack of equipment or devices," she said.
Wong was speaking at the Bingkas registration programme for the residents of Kampung Orang Asli Desa Temuan here today.
At the event, the state constituency service centre also opened the registration for the Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) and the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) programmes, to ensure the relevant groups are not left behind in benefitting from the state government's initiatives.
Bingkas is a replacement of the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Kiss) and KISS IT (Single Mothers) initiatives, which will benefit some 30,000 families with an allocation of RM108 million.
It is part of the 44 incentives under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP), meant for recipients to receive RM300 in monthly assistance or RM3,600 per year.
