Traders, hawkers under Plats given guidance, some achieve RM5,000 in daily sales

SHAH ALAM, June 26 — Traders and small hawkers registered with the Selangor Platform (Plats) will be given entrepeneurial training and guidance on proper financial management.

Its coordinator Azizul Hussin said the category will also be assisted in carrying out their sales digitally or through e-wallets, so as to increase their business efficiency.

"Do not be shocked if there are traders or small hawkers by the road who have registered with Plats and are conducting their businesses without cash or use e-wallets. We will help with all of this to make it more convenient for the trader or hawker.

"In addition, there are hawkers under Plats who have been able to earn up to RM5,000 a day. We provide assistance and give advice on proper financial management," he said during the Borak Santai talk show programme during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow, which was broadcasted on SelangorTV.

Azizul added that Plats participants are given guidance from time to time including advisory services if they want to change their type of sales.

“We do not only attract traders to register under Plats, but are always aware of sales developments. If any dealer intends to change their type of sales, we will provide assistance.

"In the event a trader or hawker is unable to operate their stalls due to inclement weather, they can still do business at home using Plats," he said.

Plats was introduced during the Ramadan period two years ago, to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem with a digital platform, following the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to help traders generate continuous income, instead of being limited to the fasting month only.

The third iteration of the virtual platform was continued this year in April, which also involved collaboration with the Selangor Digital Partner Ambassadors (RDS).
