14 river gauging stations in Pahang, 3 in Selangor surpass danger mark at 5pm

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 — A total of 14 river gauging stations in Pahang have surpassed the danger level, with four on the increasing trend as at 5 pm today.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department, in a statement, said the four stations which exceeded the danger mark and on increasing trend are Sungai Pahang in Temerloh (Lubuk Pasu); Sungai Pahang in Water Front, Bera; Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Paku, Maran; and Sungai Pahang in Kuala Sungai Chini, Pekan.

Three stations which exceeded the danger level but on stable trend are Sungai Lipis in Benta, Lipis; Sungai Jengka at Jambatan Kampung Awah, Maran; and Sungai Kuantan in Pasir Kemudi, Kuantan.

Seven more stations exceeded the danger level but on decreasing trend are Sungai Jelai in Jeti Lipis, Lipis; Sungai Pahang in Paya Gintong, Jerantut; Sungai Jelai in Jeram Bungor, Lipis; Sungai Kuantan in Kuantan Bypass; Sungai Pahang in Sungai Yap, Jerantut; Sungai Pahang in Kuala Krau, Temerloh; and Sungai Serting at Jambatan Padang. In Selangor, three stations surpassed the danger mark, with two on decreasing trend, namely Sungai Selangor in Rantau Panjang, Kuala Selangor and Sungai Selangor in Kampung Asahan, Kuala Selangor, while one was on increasing trend, that is Sungai Langat in Bukit Changgang, Kuala Langat.

Two stations in Kelantan also surpassed the danger mark, namely Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas (uptrend) and Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas (stable trend).

A gauging station in Perak also exceeded the danger level but on decreasing trend, namely Sungai Bidor in Changkat Jong, Hilir Perak.
