State-developed digital apps need monitoring, to avoid user problems

SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — The numerous digital applications developed in Selangor by next year need to be monitored, to ensure quality is always guaranteed.

Baituljannah Sdn Bhd's IT and engineering director Muhammad Azrain Kamaruddin said the apps should run smoothly and easily, as it has an impact on society, especially individuals who are less skilled in digitalisation.

He is confident that Selangor is capable of developing apps with high standards, based on the value of the allocation as announced in the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022)

"Selangor's efforts to become a superior smart state by 2025 is praiseworthy, in line with the development of current technology. However we need to ensure the quality is there so residents' activities can run smoothly.

"Hopefully all apps are suitable to be used anywhere. Societal lifestyle already changed in the post-Covid 19 period, with the world's move to online, so this factor should be taken into account," Azrain said to SelangorKini.

Earlier on November 26, during the tabling of #Selangor2022, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM316 million allocation to realise the vision of Selangor as a superior smart state by 2025.

He said the Smart Selangor agenda and digitalisation plan made the state efficient and quick when dealing with the Covid-19 period, by launching digital-based initiatives, which include the SELangkah app, Platform Selangor, and the e-Bazaar.
