MBSA and state agencies link arms to boost traders and entrepreneurs

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) together with agencies of the state government has taken steps to guide and strengthen entrepreneurs, traders, and hawkers for the future.

This cooperation involves Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah), the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), Koperasi Warga Hijrah Selangor Berhad (Kohijrah), and the Selangor Industrial Corporation Sdn Bhd (SIC)

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this stabilisation programme is aimed at giving exposure to traders who have lost their incomes due to the pandemic.

"This cooperation does not only refer to the development and rearrangement of entrepreneurs in Shah Alam, but also to strengthen them so they can become sustainable and also expand their business," he said during the launch of the Pembangunan Usahawan@Shah Alam programme at MBSA's Auditorium yesterday.

Amirudin was also on hand to witness the signing of the memorandum of understanding between MBSA, PKPS, Kohijrah, and SIC.

The programme is an initiative by MBSA for the benefit of entrepreneurs, traders and hawkers, as well as increase their awareness and understanding with regards to the set rules and regulations.

Certain initiatives are to be introduced, including early grant aid, training, expertise empowerment, the preparation of project recommendations, marketing management, trade, promotion, as well as finance.
