SHAH ALAM, Sept 28 — The Selangor government spent approximately 82.34 per cent of the RM1.25 million allocation to provide self-test kits or Home Assessment Tool (HAT) kits to Covid-19 patients in the state.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said RM1 million has been used to preserve the health of the people in Selangor, as of September 21.
According to him, the state government is always thinking of the best solution in ensuring the welfare and safety of the people remain protected during this pandemic.
“The HAT initiative was introduced in the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 as a self-assessment tool for Covid-19 patients undergoing quarantine at home.
"It contains a KN95 face mask, thermometer, oximeter, medicine, and saliva-based test kit, which are very important to prevent brought-in-dead (BID) cases," he posted on Facebook today.
On Aug 12, Amirudin said the Selangor government has distributed 60,000 free self-test kits to the families of victims who tested positive for the virus.
The kits were distributed through the Community Service Center and the State Constituency Coordinating Office.
The state government’s efforts were emulated by the federal government when on September 19, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the provision of the Covid-19 Care Package to B40 families in preparation for the endemic phase.
