Hijrah Selangor, TERAJU ink deal on funding for Bumiputera entrepreneurs

SHAH ALAM, Feb 15 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) to empower Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

The deal, among others, provides mature Bumiputera firms with wider access to financing after entrepreneurs complete Hijrah Selangor’s development programme.

Hijrah Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Mearia Hamzah said the partnership would fortify Hijrah Selangor’s role as the pulse of the state’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

“This cooperation is important to produce medium-scale, mature Bumiputera entrepreneurs, in line with the state government’s goal to build an inclusive and sustainable people’s economy.

“This strategic cooperation also expands opportunities for Hijrah Selangor entrepreneurs to grow from a micro scale to greater heights,” she said in a statement.

Mearia said that with financing and development support from TERAJU, more micro-entrepreneurs are expected to grow their businesses.

The MOU was exchanged between Hijrah Selangor board of trustees member and Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Abdul Rahman Alhadad and TERAJU chief executive officer Junady Nawawi.
