BANGI, Feb 10 — Free classes organised by the Selangor Platform (PLATS) since the beginning of this year have helped traders shift from traditional business methods to more modern and digital systems.
PLATS entrepreneur Faznizam Kamarazaman said the one-day workshop exposed traders to the digitalisation of payment systems, making it easier to manage and calculate daily sales.
“The most attractive part is that this class is free. Outside, we would have to pay more than RM500. After completing the class, we also receive a free device, the BizApp POS.
“I have also heard of the experiences of other traders who joined this programme, and there have indeed been positive changes in their businesses,” said the 39-year-old, who runs a retort food product brand, Nalis Food.
He was speaking to Media Selangor during the Comprehensive Basic Course on the Use of the PLATS POS System at the Bangi Resort Hotel today, which was attended by more than 200 participants.
Meanwhile, cat clothing trader R. Syamini, 30, said that her participation in free classes in Klang since January had helped boost her online sales.
“I learnt to sew on my own through YouTube. When I wanted to expand my business, I joined the Selangor Platform. In addition to the POS system, we were taught marketing techniques for TikTok.
“This festive season is indeed suitable for increasing sales, so I hope more customers will purchase my products,” she said.
For kuih and direct sales trader Zailah Muda, 52, she was willing to travel more than 50 kilometres from Telok Panglima Garang, Kuala Langat, to Bangi solely to gain business knowledge.
The housewife added that she had previously run her business on a small scale without proper business knowledge.
“Now the state government is providing free classes, so I am taking this opportunity even though I am already over 50 years old. There will be more classes in Shah Alam after this, and I really cannot wait to join,” she said.
