KUALA SELANGOR, Feb 10 — Selangor will allow flexible working hours for civil servants during the Ramadan fasting month, with adjustments made based on practicality and operational needs.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that while some departments may adopt more flexible schedules to allow staff to leave early, critical operations will continue to follow regular working hours.

Arrangements will be finalised after discussions to ensure all adjustments are implemented properly.

“We will assess the situation and circumstances, especially if there are requests, as we have already begun implementing flexible working schedules. However, Ramadan is not a time to stop working.

“I believe department heads can reorganise working arrangements as appropriate, as there are departments that sometimes need to operate until late,” he told the mediaafter attending the large-scale Bestari PV Solar project groundbreaking ceremony in Bestari Jaya, Kuala Selangor today.

Ramadan is scheduled to begin next Thursday (February 19).

Last year, Selangor civil servants were allowed to leave work 30 minutes earlier during Ramadan, between 4pm and 5.30pm, depending on their nine-hour work schedule.
