Iconic Sultan Abdul Samad Building reopens to public

THE Sultan Abdul Samad Building in Kuala Lumpur has been reopened to the public after restoration works to ensure the structural integrity of the historic building. The restoration effort focused on preserving original artistic elements of the over-century-old site and offering improved visitor safety and comfort.

The reopening gives the public an opportunity not just to admire the exterior beauty of the iconic building, but to also traverse its interior that now houses exhibition galleries, a visitor information centre, and cultural activity centre. Every corner of the building is a medium to learn history, specifically on the administrative development and heritage of Kuala Lumpur.

As a heritage attraction that is more attractive and accessible, the reopening of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building supports the national tourism sector. This initiative is hoped to foster public awareness about the importance of conserving historic buildings as national heritage for generations to come.
