Authorities crack down on unlicensed street vendors in Cyberjaya

SHAH ALAM, Feb 4 — The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) issued two compound notices and carried out 21 seizure actions against unlicensed traders in an enforcement operation around Cyberjaya on January 29.

MPSepang said the operation focused on monitoring and seizing goods from traders operating without valid licenses, particularly in project sites and public areas where trading is prohibited.

“The operation covered Persiaran Sepang (Lakefront), Persiaran Multimedia, and Persiaran Cyberpoint Selatan,” the council said in a statement yesterday.

Of the 21 seizures, two involved local traders, while 19 involved foreign nationals.

“The seizure actions were carried out under Provision 3 of the Sepang Municipal Council Street Traders By-Laws 2007 — Trading without a license,” it said.

MPSepang advised all traders to refrain from operating without a valid license and to comply with existing rules and by-laws.

“We will continue enforcement operations to ensure the administration area remains orderly, safe, and free from illegal street trading,” the council emphasised.
