RS-2 continues public-private partnerships to drive Selangor’s progress

SHAH ALAM, Jan 22 — The Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), which takes effect this year, will maintain the continuity of public-private partnerships (PPPs) to ensure the state’s smooth, high-impact, sustainable and inclusive development, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the strategic approaches in the five-year plan would ensure resilient financing and stronger governance at all levels.

“These strategic partnerships could expedite project implementation, optimise investments, and strengthen Selangor’s competitiveness as a developed and resilient state.

“It would also bring beneficial returns to all Selangoreans,” he said in a Facebook post after receiving a courtesy call today from CIMB Group chief executive officer Novan Amirudin and CIMB top managers.

Amirudin said the meeting saw strategic talks on efforts to expedite the state development agenda.

“Besides exchanging views, the meeting also focused on roles that can be played by banking groups like CIMB in financing the government’s strategic projects,” he explained.

The RS-2, which will be tabled in June, aims to ensure the state’s progress is on the right track.

Several improvements have been planned from RS-1, such as the disbursal of more Kita Selangor book vouchers and an enhanced Selangor People’s Tuition Programme, which is free.

The RS-2 also focuses on the MyLesen B2 programme, which recommended subsidies of between RM500 and RM1,000 for motorcyclists, and the expansion of job opportunities and community mobility.
