SEA Games 2025: Malaysian women bowlers strike gold in team event

BANGKOK, Dec 19 — Malaysia unleashed a perfect blend of experience and youth to blitz their opponents for the women's bowling team gold medal in the SEA Games Thailand 2025 at the Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl in the Major Cineplex Ratchayothin today.

The national quartet of Sin Li Jane, Natasha Mohamed Roslan, Adania Mohd Redzwan, and Nur Hazirah Ramli ruled the lanes en route to defeating Indonesia’s Sharon Adelina Liman Santoso, Aldila Indryati, Putty Insavilla Armein, and Alisha Nabila Larasati 817-773 in the final for Malaysia's second bowling gold medal.

Sin said she is proud of her teammates, particularly juniors Adania and Hazirah, who rose to the occasion and played key roles in the team’s triumph.

“This victory means a lot to us as we were determined to win gold. I am glad that all four of us fought hard through both matches, the semi-final against Thailand and the final against Indonesia,” she told the media.

The team had earlier booked their place in the final with an impressive 865-817 victory over the Thai quartet of Chawakorn Wutti, Phattaranan Pingchittapraphai, Pinmanus Khumchaipom, and Ramita Samtong in the semi-finals.

Malaysia won the first bowling gold medal on Tuesday (December 16) through Rafiq Ismail and Syazirol Shamsuddin in the men’s doubles.

Meanwhile, the national quartet of Muhammad Syazirol Shamsuddin, Muhammad Rafiq Ismail, Tun Ameerul Luqman Al Hakim, Tun Hasnul Azam, and Fan Yew Tsen had to settle for bronze after losing 723-814 to the Philippines (Kenneth Chua, Marc Dylan Custodio, Artegal Barrientos, and Mark Jesus San Jose) in the men's team semi-finals.
