SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Nine river monitoring stations in Selangor, including four in Klang, recorded dangerous water levels as of 10.15am, according to the Info Banjir official website.
The four stations in Klang were Sungai Rasau in Taman Desa Kemuning (4.15m), Sungai Rasau at Tugu Keris (3.96m), Sungai Klang in Bandar Klang (3.09m) and Sungai Binjai in Pekan Meru (4.42m).
Also recording dangerous levels were the stations at Sungai Bernam at the SKC Bridge, Hulu Selangor (20.08m), Sungai Bernam at Rimba KDR, Sabak Bernam (2.35m), Sungai Bakul in Kampung Budiman, Petaling (8.30m), Sungai Langat Batu 12, Hulu Langat (43.16m), and Sungai Langat in Jenderam Hilir, Sepang (11.29m).
Six stations were at the warning level, including the Sungai Kuang station in Kampung Melayu Seri Kundang, Gombak (23.65m), the Sungai Damansara station in TTDI Jaya (8.04m), and the Sungai Langat station in Bukit Changgang (3.95m).
Additionally, eight stations are at the alert level, including Sungai Gombak at Batu 10 (76.68m), Sungai Klang at Sri Manja, Petaling (8.55m), and Sungai Semenyih at Kampung Pasir, Hulu Langat (49.62m).
Meanwhile, 69 individuals from 19 families in Sabak Bernam have been relocated to temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 10.08am.
The Social Welfare Department’s disaster information website stated that all victims have been relocated to Dewan Sri Bernam (45 victims from 12 families) and Dewan Sri Sekinchan (24 victims from seven families).
Earlier, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said all victims were moved to the PPS to ensure their safety and welfare.
The department also said that monitoring work is being carried out by firefighters to assess the current situation, including the risk of water overflow following continuous rainfall.
