PETALING JAYA, Nov 16 — The Kampung Tunku Health Carnival provided centralised health services and welfare support, making it easier for residents to obtain the assistance they needed.

Its state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the programme was organised through the collaboration of government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and volunteers to ensure the community has comprehensive access to services.

“Our main objective is to make it easier for residents to obtain health, welfare, and counselling assistance, so they can live more comfortably and with better well-being.

“In addition, eye examinations and the provision of new spectacles also help ease the burden of those in need, as this is a basic requirement that must be fulfilled,” she said during the carnival at the Taman Aman Basketball Court today.

Lim added that the involvement of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) in the programme also plays a vital role in raising residents' awareness of the importance of early cancer screening.

Besides NCSM, the Kampung Tunku Health Carnival also saw the participation of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

She also emphasised efforts to further expand the introduction of Selangor Hab Sehat counsellors to ensure more residents are aware of the free counselling services available for the community’s mental wellbeing.
