KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — The Dewan Rakyat passed the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 at the policy stage today, after being debated since October 13.
The Bill, tabled by Prime Minister cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on October 10, was approved through a bloc vote, with 120 MPs in favour, 67 against, and 35 absent.
According to the Parliament calendar, the committee stage debate on the Bill will take place from tomorrow until November 27.
Budget 2026 marks the fourth budget under the Madani government and the first under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
The ‘People’s Budget’, as it is themed, allocates RM470 billion in public expenditure, comprising RM338.2 billion for operating expenses and RM81 billion for development, in addition to investments from government-linked investment companies (RM30 billion), public-private partnerships (RM10 billion), and Federal statutory bodies and Minister of Finance Incorporated companies (RM10.8 billion).
