AGC issues new directive, police reinvestigate case of pupil found dead in school toilet

SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Investigations into the death of a Year Four student at a school in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, early last month are still ongoing, as the police have received the investigation papers back from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) with several new directives.

Harian Metro reported that state police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the directive was received yesterday, and that his department is currently completing the follow-up actions as instructed by the AGC.

He advised all parties not to make any statements that could interfere with the investigation process.

“We received the investigation papers back from the AGC on 3 November. There are new directives that must be addressed before the papers are resubmitted to the Attorney-General.

“As the investigation papers are still in the process of being fully completed, I urge everyone not to issue any statements that could jeopardise the investigation,” Alzafny said.

He added that the final outcome of the investigation will be announced once further instructions are received from the AGC.

Previously, it was reported that the police completed a thorough investigation with the assistance of various expert elements to determine the cause of the pupil’s death.

However, during a press conference yesterday, the victim’s father Muhammad Hafizuddin Abdullah, 40, claimed that he had received a notebook containing a death threat written against his child.

He also questioned the status of the case, alleging that he had not received any updates since his last communication with the investigating officer on October 5.

Earlier reports stated that the child’s death was caused by pressure applied to the neck, and police had opened an investigation paper under Section 507C of the Penal Code — bullying through communication.
