KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — AirAsia is offering a promotional one-way fixed fare of RM299, inclusive of all charges, for flights from the Peninsula to Sabah from November 26 to 28, in conjunction with the November 29 Sabah State Election.

It said the special offer involves over 4,300 seats, covering eight routes and 24 flights from key domestic destinations directly to Sabah, and bookings can be made starting from today until October 26 via airasia.com and AirAsia MOVE application.

The offer involves flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau or Labuan; from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau; and from Kota Bharu and Penang to Kota Kinabalu.

"This initiative reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to connect communities and support Malaysians during meaningful moments, especially in Sabah, as one of AirAsia's most important domestic markets,” it said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, AirAsia chief executive officer Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra said that as the people’s airline, AirAsia would always stand alongside the communities.

"Elections are moments that bring communities together to shape the future, and this initiative is our way of making it more affordable for people to return home and take part,” he said.

He added that Sabah remains one of AirAsia’s main domestic markets, consistently strengthening connectivity between the state and other destinations in Malaysia and abroad through affordable fares.

The Election Commission (EC) has fixed November 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election, while nomination is set for November 15 and early voting on November 25.
