SHAH ALAM, Oct 17 — The Transport Ministry has released the names of goods vehicle and express bus companies with the highest number of speeding offences under its ‘name and shame’ policy, with the top offender receiving 271 summonses in just over three months.

In total, 20 transport companies accumulated 1,507 speeding summonses since June 25, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said in a written parliamentary reply dated yesterday.

According to Loke, GJG Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd recorded the highest number of speeding summonses among bus companies as of October 8, with a total of 271.

Two other operators recorded over 100 summonses, namely Cepat Ekspres Sdn Bhd (198) and AC Interstate Coach (M) Sdn Bhd (185).

The other bus companies were Juara Roda Express Sdn Bhd (45), Express Senibudaya (M) Sdn Bhd (39), Pancaran Matahari (M) Sdn Bhd (35), Syarikat Pengangkutan Azra Sdn Bhd (35), Kenderaan Bas Mara (33), TMKL Express & Tours Sdn Bhd (33), and Zenwan (M) Sdn Bhd (33).

In the goods vehicle companies category, SPT Power Transport Services had the most summonses with 114, followed by Tiong Soon Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd (88), Visions Transport Enterprise Sdn Bhd (65), and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (57)

The other companies were E2S Logistics Sdn Bhd (56), Securiforce Sdn Bhd (53), Chan Soon Transport & Trading Sdn Bhd (47), GD Fit International (M) Sdn Bhd (46), Jimat Jaya Sdn Bhd (37), and SBS Teguh Impian (M) Sdb Bhd (37).

Loke said this in response to Rasah MP Cha Kee Chin, who wanted to know the name of companies with the highest number of speeding offences since June 25, following the government's implementation of the ‘name and shame’ policy against repeat offenders.

"The Transport Ministry, through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), remains committed to conducting integrated enforcement activities through multi-pronged strategies aimed at reducing road fatalities involving heavy vehicles.

"The name and shame policy is one of several enforcement measures undertaken by the ministry, JPJ and the Land Public Transport Agency," he said.

Loke said other actions include the enforcement of speed limiter, year-round special operations, and the suspension and revocation of vehicle permits and operator licences for companies committing serious offences.
