KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — The Dewan Negara today passed the motion on the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), the country’s strategic five-year development blueprint for the 2026-2030 period.
Its president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said the motion was passed with a majority of senators voting in favour.
The 13MP motion was debated over four days from August 25 to 28, followed by a two-day ministerial wind-up session, which concluded today.
Today’s session saw 15 more ministries delivering their wind-up speeches, including the Communications Ministry, Health Ministry, and Economy Ministry.
On July 31, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also finance minister, tabled the 13MP, aimed at redesigning the nation’s trajectory through technological leadership, inclusive growth, and public sector reform.
The Dewan Negara sitting continues tomorrow.
