SHAH ALAM, Aug 30 — The Form Three student who fell from the hostel of a school in Sabak Bernam recently is being treated at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, where he underwent a special procedure to control pressure within the brain.

State executive councillor for public health and the environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the treatment was successfully completed within the first 48 hours.

"As of the third day following treatment, the student’s condition has reportedly stabilised and he has begun showing some positive responses.

"The medical team continues to monitor his progress closely. The state government expresses its deepest sympathy and prayers for his full recovery," she said in a statement today.

Jamaliah also called on all parties to give the family space and to refrain from making or spreading any speculation that could affect the student's emotional well-being.

"Together with the Selangor Health Department, the state government will continue to monitor the student’s health condition and extend necessary support to the family," she said.

Yesterday, state executive councillor for women’s development and social welfare Anfaal Saari said the student had responded positively to medical treatment, having begun to move his legs.

She noted that the District Education Office is gathering more details on all aspects, including the school and hostel's facilities.

On Tuesday (August 26), Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed that a police report was received over the student's fall, adding that a case file had been opened under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
