RSTU brings efficiency to Selangor public service

AMPANG JAYA, Aug 27 — The Delivery and Governance System Reform (RSTU) initiative launched by the state government will ensure efficient and impactful management and support the development of smart cities.

State executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the RSTU is Selangor’s response to the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) and shows the state administration’s commitment to change and progress with its residents.

“The RSTU framework centres on eight main focuses: governance integrity, delivery reforms, eradication of silo culture, complaint reforms, qualified human capital, encouraging specialised skills among civil servants, empowering the grassroots, strengthening agencies from the district level, and improving programme monitoring. Assessments will be performed after these eight main focuses are implemented,” she said.

Speaking at the Ampang Jaya Smart City Synergy Convention, Jamaliah said public service digitalisation is well underway in realising the Selangor government’s aim to create smart cities.

“The creation and management of a smart city involves various parties, from the government and public sector to the private sector and developers, right until the local communities themselves.

“This is not easy as it not only needs commitment, but sufficient financial resources for the continuity of this smart system,” Jamaliah said.

On August 4, the Selangor government introduced the RSTU as a main driver for the implementation of state policies and the coordination of federal government policies.

Officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, the reforms focuses on five main objectives so the renewal of the governance and delivery systems are efficient and impactful.
