SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — Selangor today disbursed Early Schooling Aid (BAP) to 5,965 Form 6 students from 37 Form 6 Centres in the state.
With an allocation of RM894,750 under Budget 2025, the assistance was presented to recipients by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the BAP would allow Form 6 students to adapt to campus life.
“Form 6 is the step before university, matriculation or diploma courses. Even though Form 6 is often considered a third or fourth choice, it is a way for students to further their studies.
“Form 6 actually has its advantages in … making you more mature to enter university, compared with matriculation.
“That is why there has been a slight transformation to the education system, which changed Form 6 to make it like you’re in university, called pre-university,” Amirudin said during the aid presentation ceremony at Kolej Tingkatan Enam Shah Alam today.

During the event, Amirudin presented excellence awards to Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2024 worth RM1,000 to 15 top performers.
Meanwhile, Education Ministry secretary-general Dato’ Aminuddin Hassim said that overall, the distributed BAP was valued at over RM791 million, with recipients ranging from Year 1 to Form 6 students nationwide.
“This year was the first time the assistance has been expanded to Form 6 students to lighten their school expenses burden.
“May this aid be able to be fully used and catalyse children’s success,” Amirudin said.
