SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — Five media companies, including Media Selangor Sdn Bhd (MSSB), will form a consortium of official broadcasters for the Selangor Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2026.
The consortium will be the first sports broadcasting model of its kind in Sukma history.
Besides MSSB, the companies in the consortium are Astro, TV Sarawak, SGTV and Arqiva UK.
SGTV is a sports broadcasting firm of high repute in Southeast Asia, and has covered the Selangor Badminton Asia Team Championships 2024, the SEA Games 2023 in Phnom Penh, and the SEA Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.
Arqiva UK, meanwhile, is an international broadcasting infrastructure service provider based in Britain with over 100 years of experience.
MSSB is a subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, which functions as official media for the Selangor government.
During the launch ceremony for the Selangor Sukma 2026 mascot and theme song last night, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who was accompanied by state executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi, presented logo placards to official media partners for the event.
Amirudin also presented logo placards to Selangor Sukma 2026 official sponsors Selangor Utility Corridor (Kusel) and Broadcast Production & Sales APAC.
Meanwhile, the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, which is the venue for the Selangor Sukma 2026 opening ceremony, was appointed strategic partner for the 22nd edition of the sporting event.
All 12 of Selangor’s local council and several government and private agencies were appointed infrastructure partners.
