SHAH ALAM, Aug 15 — The white eagle has once again been chosen as the mascot for the Malaysia Games (Sukma) Selangor 2026, which is scheduled to take place from August 15 to August 24 next year.
Previously, it served as Selangor’s mascot when the state hosted Sukma in 1998. Now, the bird of prey has once again been selected as the emblem of the Selangor contingent for the upcoming biennial sporting event.
Its launch was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the Sukma Selangor launch ceremony at Dewan Raja Muda Musa tonight.
Also launched was the official Sukma Selangor 2026 logo, shaped like a torch with the Roman numeral XXII, marking Selangor’s return as the host state. The event also carried the tagline 'Rentak Kita, Aksi Kita' (Our Rhythm, Our Action).
During the ceremony, mock cheques were presented to the official sponsors — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, Selangor Utility Corridor (Kusel), and Broadcast Production and Sales APAC (BPSA).
Meanwhile, the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (Petronas SIC), which will serve as the official venue for the Sukma Selangor opening ceremony, was appointed as a strategic partner.
At the same time, 12 local authorities in Selangor, along with several government and private agencies, were appointed as infrastructure partners.
In addition, Media Selangor Sdn Bhd (MSSB) was named as an official sports broadcast partner alongside Astro, TV Sarawak (TVS), SGTV, and Arqiva UK.
