SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — The Transport Ministry (MOT) is providing First-Mile Last-Mile (FMLM) connectivity public transport services to link residential areas with each station once operations begin.
It said the move aims to make it easier for residents to have direct access to the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) stations, while encouraging the wider usage of public transportation.
“The public transport modes to be provided will include door-to-door services via taxis and e-hailing, the Rapid on Demand (ROD) van service by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad.
“This also include the provision of 150 buses in the future based on the reinstated scope,” the MOT said in a written reply to the Dewan Rakyat.
It was responding to Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof's query for detailed clarification regarding last-mile public transport services.
The MOT added that the service will hopefully encourage more residents to fully utilise the LRT3 service, which is scheduled to begin operations on September 30.
