SHAH ALAM, Aug 7 — Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) will be held concurrently with the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) in October as a strategic move aimed at consolidating the strengths of the state’s key sectors.

State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the move could draw more international investment and trade networks, thereby driving economic growth.

“Aerospace is one of the emerging growth sectors in Selangor, with over 60 per cent of international industry players operating here, spanning maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), component manufacturing, logistics, and technical training,” he told Media Selangor.

Ng said SIBS 2025 will be a comprehensive platform encompassing the manufacturing, digital, halal, food, logistics, and aerospace sectors.

He also expressed hope that the state would surpass last year’s SIBS transaction value of RM13.86 billion. The previous summit was held in two iterations, one in July and one in October.

Previously, the state set a target of RM10 billion in potential transactions and 50,000 visitors for SIBS 2025, which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from October 8 to 11.

The summit will also feature over 700 booths for industry players, both local and international.

At the inaugural Selangor International Care Summit that will be held in conjunction with SIBS 2025, Ng said it will focus on key segments including healthcare, the elderly, children, and people with special needs.

“This is a strategic sector aligned with the country’s demographic shifts. The summit is not only a response to social needs, but also a platform for economic growth, creating high-value jobs, especially for women and vulnerable communities such as the B40,” Ng added.
