Topcon chooses Selangor to establish Southeast Asia's first smart technology training centre

SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 — Selangor has become the first state in Southeast Asia to be chosen by Topcon Positioning Asia (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to open a smart technology training centre.

State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the upcoming Topcon Malaysia Training Centre (TMTC), which is set to commence operations soon, aligns with the state government’s policy that emphasises human capital development based on technology.

“Topcon is opening its fourth training centre in the world here in Selangor, after the United States, Italy, and Japan. This selection demonstrates the company’s confidence in Selangor's potential as an international training hub.

“This training centre also boosts foreign investors’ confidence to continue investing in the state. It proves Selangor's ongoing investment appeal,” he said after officiating the centre in Glenmarie today.

Topcon Corporation President cum Chief Executive Officer Takashi Eto said the training centre's establishment marks a new chapter in the construction sector, including highway development projects.

“We want participants not only to master the latest technologies through practical learning, but also to place emphasis on safety and economic aspects.

“We also anticipate that this centre will become a key hub for developing digital competencies, aimed at enhancing productivity, precision, and sustainability in construction workflows,” he said.
