PUTRAJAYA, July 25 — The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) is organising the REKA+ competition from August 1 to November 30 to spark creativity and innovation among youth in conjunction with the Madani Smart Water campaign.
In a statement today, SPAN said the REKA+ competition is part of the campaign launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof on May 8.
“The competition focuses on the development of innovative water-related products and is open to students from public and private higher learning institutions, polytechnics and colleges nationwide.
“The competition period will cover registration, shortlisting, prototype or model development, and evaluation by a panel of professional judges,” it said in a statement.
RM19,000 in cash prizes is up for grabs, comprising RM5,000 for first place, RM4,000 for second, RM3,000 for third, and RM1,000 consolation prizes for fourth to 10th place.
“REKA+ is designed to provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and innovation, while encouraging a lasting behavioural shift towards valuing water services,” SPAN said.
Entry forms and competition guidelines will be available on SPAN’s website and social media channels from July 29.
