SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Selangor will work with Indonesia to upskill care workers with certified practical training programmes.

State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said Indonesia has long exported human capital, but not specifically in the care industry.

“There may (be training for) factory work but not much for care work. By cooperating to provide practical care training for workers to come to Malaysia and be certified, their quality (of work) could be better,” she said at the Selangor International Care Summit (SICS) hi-tea here yesterday.

The event was held for 120 strategic partners and business prospects at Saujana Hotel, and was aimed at drawing more prospects to the SICS, to be held October 9 to 11.

The SICS will run during the Selangor International Business Summit, and will combine various components such as forums, conventions, and business-matching and engagement sessions.

Those interested in joining the SICS as exhibitors or participants can visit the website for more information.
