KEPONG, June 29 — A nearly three-decade wait has finally ended as 1,120 residents of Taman Daya in Kepong received land title deeds from the state government, resolving a longstanding ownership issue that had persisted for 28 years.

Bukit Lanjan state assemblyman Pua Pei Ling said the granting of land titles involves residents from 525 shop lots, 260 terrace houses, 250 low-cost flats, and 176 Astana Square serviced apartment units.

“In total, nearly 90 per cent of land ownership issues in Taman Daya have been fully resolved after residents waited for 28 years.

“This issue arose due to the failure of an irresponsible and bankrupt developer. Therefore, the state government took the initiative to intervene and assist residents in obtaining their title deeds. It means so much more than what they previously had,” she said.

Pua was speaking to the press the Astana Square Title Deed and Taman Daya 5A notice presentation ceremony at Jaya Daya Utama yesterday, officiated by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

Meanwhile, she also announced that one of the issues she intends to raise at the upcoming State Legislative Assembly session is the growing concern over paedophilia.

Pua said that the situation is becoming increasingly alarming and needs to be addressed promptly to ensure the continued safety of children.

“We are seeing more children freely expressing themselves on social media, and some even access these platforms easily using their parents’ phones.

“We are concerned that this issue could spiral further. As such, I will be tabling a motion and urging the state government to take appropriate action to ensure the people of Selangor can continue to live in a safe and secure environment,” she said.
