GOMBAK, June 14 — Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Garing in Rawang has received solar lighting facilities aimed at improving the quality of life while supporting sustainability efforts through the use of eco-friendly energy.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu, who is also responsible for Orang Asli and minority affairs, said the installation of six units for RM19,976 is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the community's well-being and safety.
“Selangor remains committed to delivering inclusive and comprehensive development for all segments of society, including the Orang Asli, in line with the principles of social justice and sustainable development as outlined in national policy.
“The provision of basic amenities such as lighting will have a significant impact on the daily lives of the Orang Asli community, particularly in terms of safety, education, and economic activities,” he said in a statement today.
Papparaidu added that the project's implementation also involved close cooperation with the Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa) and the local authorities.
“This initiative will continue in stages, involving more Orang Asli villages in the future,” he said.
