SHAH ALAM, May 29 — The Selangor government is working to ensure all affected Smart Selangor bus routes are fully operational by the first week of June, after nearly a month of disruption that has affected thousands of commuters.
State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the Selangor government, the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), the Land Public Transport Agency, and the service operator are collaborating to solve the issue.
“This issue not only disrupts daily life but risks undermining public confidence in Selangor’s public transport services. It may also hamper broader efforts to encourage the shift towards public transport use,” Ng said in a statement today.

As of today, three of the five affected routes (SJ01, SJ02 and SJ03) have resumed operations, while efforts are underway to restore SJ04 and SJ05.
Ng added that the Selangor government deeply regrets the prolonged disruption, especially as it has caused significant hardship to regular commuters, including schoolchildren who depend on the service.
The state has reprimanded the MBSJ over the incident and urged an internal audit to determine the factors and systemic weaknesses that led to the lapse.
He said the Smart Selangor free bus service remains a critical part of the state’s mobility agenda, aimed at easing commuting costs and improving connectivity for all Selangor residents.
