KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — Tourism Selangor is optimistic that Visit Selangor Year 2025 (VSY2025) will exceed its target of drawing eight million visitors and collecting RM11.7 billion in receipts.
Tourism Selangor promotions manager Khuzaimah Jamaluddin said among the main strategies of VSY2025 are to highlight the uniqueness of Selangor’s culture and natural environment.
“Tourism Selangor will sign a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) with the Japan Tourism Bureau and Napei agency during the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, in May.
“The MOC will focus efforts on drawing students there (Japan) to visit Selangor.
“Next week, the Padi Field Festival in Sekinchan will offer various interesting programmes such as runs and (meeting) villagers, which are set to draw many visitors,” she added when met yesterday at the Matta Fair, held at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre here.

Khuzaimah said her agency will hold a special exhibition to promote state tourism products at Central Market here in July.
“The exhibit is specifically to promote Selangor tourism products. We chose a location in Kuala Lumpur as it is a hub for foreign tourists.
“With the momentum we have from various programmes and exhibitions, we are confident we can exceed all targets,” she said.
VSY2025 offers over 60 events that focus on ecotourism, agrotourism, arts and culture, among others.
